Mexican Meets Western Herbalism with Sofia Arana-Miranda @teyolia.sofia

Join clinical herbalist and ceremonialist Sofia Arana-Miranda for an evening of culture-bridging herbal wisdom.

In this hands-on class, we’ll explore the intersection of Mexican folk healing and Western herbalism. Learn about curanderismo, a living tradition of medicine rooted in ritual, plants, and spirit, and discover how its herbs and remedies align and differ from the more clinical Western approach to herbs.

We will also craft a beautiful bottle of herbal Agua Florida (a traditional cleansing cologne used in energetic healing and spiritual rituals) to take home and use in your own space or practice. You’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of the traditions behind the plants, and how to respectfully integrate folk remedies into your own practice.

Whether you’re new to Mexican healing traditions or looking to deepen your understanding of cross-cultural herbalism, this class is a grounding, sensory-rich introduction to the medicine that lives in story, ritual, and relationship.

Participants will leave with:
– A 2 oz bottle of handmade Agua Florida
– A foundational understanding of curanderismo and herbal analogues
– Inspiration for integrating ritual into daily plant practice
