Workshops

Our workshops are designed to reconnect you with the wisdom of the past while cultivating skills that inspire resilience and creativity today. From animal processing and hide tanning to herbal medicine, fire making, and fiber arts, each class invites you to slow down, work with your hands, and learn from skilled instructors in a welcoming, hands-on environment.

Whether you’re crafting a willow basket, dyeing fabric with native plants, or learning the art of bow making, every workshop is an opportunity to deepen your connection to nature, community, and self.

We believe that by preserving traditional skills, we’re not just keeping history alive — we’re creating a place where knowledge, creativity, and community thrive.

Our Pay-What-You-Can Model

Our Pay-What-You-Can Model *

At the NoCo Folk School, we believe that traditional knowledge belongs to everyone—and cost shouldn’t be a barrier to learning.

That’s why many of our classes and events are offered using a Pay-What-You-Can model.

This means:

  • You choose the price that feels right for you.

  • Whether you can give a little or a lot, you are welcome here.

  • If you’re able to pay more, your contribution helps make space for others with less access to financial resources.

We trust in the spirit of reciprocity. When we each give what we can, we create a more inclusive, resilient learning community for all.

How this looks:

Most of our classes will be listed at their minimum price, this is the minimum cost for running the class. If this is where you are at, then great! We are very excited to have you. If you have the option to pay more to help others attend, then we are very grateful for your generosity.

Learning is a birthright. Let’s keep it that way—together.

Register

Thank you for your interest in our Workshops!

Education is our primary principle.

All of our workshops require pre-registration, unless there are last minute openings. If it is less than 24 hours before a class please call us to check availability.

ACCESSIBILITY: Classes are typically held in English with visual aids and handouts given. They currently take place above the Golden Poppy Herbal Apothecary, which is accessed by a flight of stairs. A private bathroom is available.

If you have any accessibility needs please call us before signing up so we can make arrangements for you to be able to enjoy our classes.

Cancellation Policy: If you sign up for a class and later find out you are not able to attend, please give us as much notice as possible, that way people who are on waiting lists can be notified that a spot has opened up for them.

We can only offer refunds or credit on classes cancelled at least 48 hours before the event due to our commitment to pay the teachers of the workshops.

Thank you for your understanding, we hope to see you soon!
